The Wife and I booked our tickets home to Halifax for the beginning of June! We’ve officially purchased one ways to Halifax, and after a week of celebrating my best friends wedding, my 24th birthday, and my little sisters graduation from university, we will drive down to PA to spend time with the Wife’s parents (who are wonderful!) and then we’ll fly out of Rochester to Kelowna after a lovely week of bbq steaks and peanut M&Ms.
To say I’m excited is a pretty accurate statement.
To say the Wife is excited is an understatement. She’s already begun to plan out our time in PA, including where we will go shopping. I say we in a general way. It usually ends up being her and Mom Bennett shopping while Dad Bennett and I find a bench to sit on and read. I’ve already got my picks of trades to order from Amazon to PA so I’ll have some reading material. The Ultimates Ultimate collection will be a wonderful way to waste a few hours.
I digress.
A BBQ has been organized, meals have been planned (lots of steak), and much fun will be had by all. But enough about the future.
The past few weeks have been busy. Trying to recover from the Christmas season and moving so fast into the New Year has been mind melting. It’s hard to believe it’s already February. I did get some time this week to relax as we just finished a pretty intense 4 week teaching series at youth. This week being a special event gives my mind some time to relax before we dive into the next series.
I also got some time to hang out with one of the coolest men on the planet today. C is a 93 year old who attends the Creek. We had a cup of tea and he told me stories of farming, logging, and what it was like to live off the land. He is the kind of guy who just oozes God’s love, grace, hope and peace. It’s always inspiring to sit and talk with him and learn from him.
That’s about all I have in me to write at the moment.
Oh, the Wife and I are addicted to Swagbucks. We’ve been earning them and using them to cash in for $5 amazon.com gift cards. It’s been brilliant. I already have $20 worth of cards saved up. We’re aiming to earn enough Swagbucks to cash in for one $5 gift card each week until May. Let’s see how well we do.
