Obligatory New Year’s Post…
Well, it’s 2010.
10 years ago people were freaking out about Y2K. Canned food and bottled water were flying off the shelves and into people’s basement storehouses. People were hiding in fall out shelters awaiting the computer systems of the world to fail, and cause nuclear weapons to detonate, leaving a vast wasteland…
But none of that happened.
Instead, we were lead into a decade where people argued over global warming, same sex issues, government elections (especially the one involving some guy born in Hawaii) etc. People panicked over money issues, others predicted Armageddon, essentially, things stayed pretty much the same as they did in the 90s.
People argued with each other, fought each other, killed each other and continued to worry that the world was going to end (which, I guess it will someday).
I started this decade in Grade 7. In this past ten years, I graduated High School, moved onto College, lived in Upstate NY for six months, graduated college, got married to the most wonderful/beautiful/awesome/smart woman in the world, and realized what it was like to be an adult.
It was a pretty eventful decade.
Let’s see what the next ten years might bring.
