A few things.
1. K and I are writing a cooperative blog now. Quick entries that detail the day/week. You can find it here.
2. I’ve watched so much M*A*S*H* the past few days that I’ve given serious consideration to spending my hard earned money buying the complete series on DVD. If only it was out on BluRay.
3. The weather is brightening up here again. A few straight days of rain...

On April 21st last year, Kaylan and I stepped onto a plane in Halifax, NS. After 45 minutes, we stepped back off the plane. Then, after about an hour of police and dogs searching the plane, we were allowed back on, and we flew to Toronto, missed our connecting flight by ten minutes, sat in Toronto for an hour, flew to Calgary, sat there for 3 hours, then flew to Kelowna, BC.
A year ago from...

Me: Is that mouse bigger than the cat?
Liam: Yeah, that's why it's the funniest show ever.

The Wife and I booked our tickets home to Halifax for the beginning of June! We’ve officially purchased one ways to Halifax, and after a week of celebrating my best friends wedding, my 24th birthday, and my little sisters graduation from university, we will drive down to PA to spend time with the Wife’s parents (who are wonderful!) and then we’ll fly out of Rochester to Kelowna...

The plague visits our house.
Mrs. Fitz was sick Friday night/Saturday/This morning(Sunday).
I don’t mean like “I have a headache and am tired” sick. I mean full on flu symptoms sick. Needless to say, I was up with her all Friday night, making sure she was plenty hydrated and first thing Saturday morning I went out and got her some Gatorade, some saltines, and some flu meds. She’s better now. Eating,...
A few thoughts about vacation.
I’m back in the office after a week long break. The board decided there was no reason to have the offices opened for the week after Christmas. So I had an entire week to play video games, read, and just relax at home with the Wife.
It was wonderful. We spent time with friends, enjoyed some movies/tv on dvd we got for christmas, ate a ton of delicious foods, and the list goes on.
Now that...

I’m thankful for a lot of things.
My Wife.
My Family.
My Friends.
My home.
But most of all. I’m thankful that I’m not one of thousands of people updating Facebook and Twitter in regards to the amount of studying they are doing to prepare for their finals. College Grad, HUZZAH!
I overhear the most interesting things in coffee shops. Whether it be people discussing music, movies, tv etc. Or people over-sharing personal tid-bits of information with others while speaking loudly enough for the employees out back to hear them. But my favourite I’ve overheard today:
“The feng shui of the mountains is just beautiful…”
I didn’t even know...

I can not help but agree.
“If you are a Christian who is going to hand out tracts for Halloween please also hand out enough candy to make a kid a diabetic.” - Mark Driscoll
The Wife (Mrs. Fitz told me to use that when referencing her) told me I needed to update more. So here’s an update, with a photo! (Taken with iPhone Instagram App (it’s free) from our deck. We live in a one bedroom basement apartment, and this is what I see everyday I walk out my front door/look out my kitchen window)
Anyway, things have been crazyawesomebusy here. And things are just...

Update
SO much has been happening the past few weeks. We’ve been busy, and loving every minute of it.
Fitz #1 was here to visit Mrs. Fitz and I this past weekend. We had a blast! It was great to see her, and we had a great time touring some of the Okanagan.
Kick off for student ministries is this Friday. I am crazy excited about the fall, the team that has come together, and the things we are...

Quick update
Mrs. Fitz and I are finally settled into our new place. Check out her blog for pictures.
It’s small, but we have a huge outdoor space for a BBQ and patio furniture (which we’ll buy at the end of the season when it goes on clearance), and the view from our living room of the lake is out of this world. We love it!
I head to Vancouver this weekend for a men’s getaway with some...

We made it to BC in one piece.
We’re slowly getting everything sorted out with banking, cars, insurance, apartments, and the likes.
Hopefully we’ll be in our new place by the weekend.

A few quick updates
1. Mrs. Fitz and I finish up our time here at HWC in 4 days. We drive to Hali. on Monday for a week or so, then to PA, then across the continent… Yes we’re driving, because….
2. Our beloved old 1999 Toyota Camry died on us last week on our way home from the Rally. The ol’ girl was a beaut and we put well over 40,000 miles into her. She will be sorely missed. However, we...
An open apology to Avatar
I finally got around to watching Avatar the other night. I was invited to a screening at the local NBCC with my good friend Doug. If I’ve spoken to you about Avatar before, you know I was not a fan even before I had seen the movie. I thought it was just another big pile of CGI garbage, an outer space rip off of Pocahontas. Well, it was kind of an outer space rip off of Pocahontas, but...

An interesting thought...
The following is taken from an interview/debate between Unitarian minister Marilyn Sewell and atheist/author Christopher Hitchens. The whole transcript for the interview/debate can be found here.
Sewell: The religion you cite in your book is generally the fundamentalist faith of various kinds. I’m a liberal Christian, and I don’t take the stories from the scripture literally. I don’t believe in...
Books!
So the local christian bookstore had a huge blowout going out of business sale today. From the hours of 7am to 9am every book was 60% off. So, in classic Mrs. Fitz fashion, we woke up at the crack of dawn and drove into Woodstock and ended up getting some great books for some even greater prices.
I picked up four. Three I have been wanting for a while, and just have never purchased, and one I saw...

A gem from the lady I call my wife.
Dear Tim Horton’s - Thank you for your prompt service and delicious food. Every dollar spent on beverages and pastries is well worth it. Sincerely, Your Cheese Croissant Loving Fan

I am constantly being reminded these past few days of how finite I am in the grand scheme of creation. I am constantly being reminded these past few days of how infinite God really is in the grand scheme of everything.
But now matter how finite I may be, or infinite He may be, He knows me. He created me. He loves me.
I just think that’s awesome.
Men are never duly touched and impressed with a conviction of their...
Obligatory New Year's Post...
Well, it’s 2010.
10 years ago people were freaking out about Y2K. Canned food and bottled water were flying off the shelves and into people’s basement storehouses. People were hiding in fall out shelters awaiting the computer systems of the world to fail, and cause nuclear weapons to detonate, leaving a vast wasteland…
But none of that happened.
Instead, we were lead into a...

The joy that is summer camp.
I got to spend some time at camp this week. It was an awesome time. This week was the District Teen Camp over at Caton’s, and one of the kids from my youth group went, so I decided to head down for a day or two and hang out as well. It was good to see everyone from camp again, and some fellow youth pastors who are on the district.
I do not know what it is about camp, but I find being their...
