A few things.

1. K and I are writing a cooperative blog now. Quick entries that detail the day/week. You can find it here.

2. I’ve watched so much M*A*S*H* the past few days that I’ve given serious consideration to spending my hard earned money buying the complete series on DVD. If only it was out on BluRay.

3. The weather is brightening up here again. A few straight days of rain make you appreciate the scorching heat of summer more and more. Although, winter is coming… So I’ve pulled my fall coat out of the closet and have it on standby for the coldest of winter days here in the Okanagan*.

* - Last winter, I didn’t wear my winter jacket once. Instead I wore a nice fall jacket from Old Navy. I love BC winters.

On April 21st last year, Kaylan and I stepped onto a plane in Halifax, NS. After 45 minutes, we stepped back off the plane. Then, after about an hour of police and dogs searching the plane, we were allowed back on, and we flew to Toronto, missed our connecting flight by ten minutes, sat in Toronto for an hour, flew to Calgary, sat there for 3 hours, then flew to Kelowna, BC.

A year ago from tomorrow we were just visiting. Now it’s home.

  • Liam: Yeah, that's why it's the funniest show ever.

The Wife and I booked our tickets home to Halifax for the beginning of June! We’ve officially purchased one ways to Halifax, and after a week of celebrating my best friends wedding, my 24th birthday, and my little sisters graduation from university, we will drive down to PA to spend time with the Wife’s parents (who are wonderful!) and then we’ll fly out of Rochester to Kelowna after a lovely week of bbq steaks and peanut M&Ms.

To say I’m excited is a pretty accurate statement.

To say the Wife is excited is an understatement. She’s already begun to plan out our time in PA, including where we will go shopping. I say we in a general way. It usually ends up being her and Mom Bennett shopping while Dad Bennett and I find a bench to sit on and read. I’ve already got my picks of trades to order from Amazon to PA so I’ll have some reading material. The Ultimates Ultimate collection will be a wonderful way to waste a few hours.

I digress.

A BBQ has been organized, meals have been planned (lots of steak), and much fun will be had by all. But enough about the future.

The past few weeks have been busy. Trying to recover from the Christmas season and moving so fast into the New Year has been mind melting. It’s hard to believe it’s already February. I did get some time this week to relax as we just finished a pretty intense 4 week teaching series at youth. This week being a special event gives my mind some time to relax before we dive into the next series.

I also got some time to hang out with one of the coolest men on the planet today. C is a 93 year old who attends the Creek. We had a cup of tea and he told me stories of farming, logging, and what it was like to live off the land. He is the kind of guy who just oozes God’s love, grace, hope and peace. It’s always inspiring to sit and talk with him and learn from him.

That’s about all I have in me to write at the moment.

Oh, the Wife and I are addicted to Swagbucks. We’ve been earning them and using them to cash in for $5 amazon.com gift cards. It’s been brilliant. I already have $20 worth of cards saved up. We’re aiming to earn enough Swagbucks to cash in for one $5 gift card each week until May. Let’s see how well we do.

The plague visits our house.

Mrs. Fitz was sick Friday night/Saturday/This morning(Sunday).

I don’t mean like “I have a headache and am tired” sick. I mean full on flu symptoms sick. Needless to say, I was up with her all Friday night, making sure she was plenty hydrated and first thing Saturday morning I went out and got her some Gatorade, some saltines, and some flu meds. She’s better now. Eating, and sitting up, and talking and blogging.

I give the credit to my wonderful medical care, and Gatorade… Seriously.

She could not keep anything down (water included). She drinks Gatorade, and BAM. She seems to think the flu meds helped, but I give credit to Gatorade.

In other news, it’s been BEAUTIFUL the past few days here in BC. I drove to and from the church this morning with my windows down. However, forecasts call for rain most of the week, to which I say “Hey, at least it isn’t snow. And at least it isn’t -25C outside.”
